Millburn-Short Hills is approximately 20 miles west of midtown Manhattan and the commute is a short 35 minute train ride via NJT’s Midtown Direct to NYC Penn Station or transfer in Hoboken for an easy commute to the Financial District by way of Ferry and PATH Trains. Both the Millburn and Short Hills train stations are close to many neighborhoods. Annual parking permits are available as is daily metered parking. Millburn-Short Hills is approximately 10 miles west of Newark International Airport via Routes 78 and 24.

Millburn’s five elementary schools - Deerfield, Glenwood, Hartshorn, South Mountain and Wyoming, all feed into the newly formed Fifth Grade Washington School and then it’s on to the Millburn Middle School (grades 6-8). These schools provide nurturing and academically challenging environments with curricula comprised of the core studies plus world languages, the arts, computer lab, music, library and physical education.
Free busing is available to students who live further than 2 miles for grades K – 8; and further than 2.5 miles for high school, following state regulation. Subscription busing is available to those who do not meet these guidelines.

Millburn Township is unique in that it offers upscale shopping along with the quaint small town shopping of a traditional downtown. Downtown Millburn offers a variety of unique specialty shops, restaurants, boutiques, service-based businesses, and professional offices.
